Guest conductor

Christopher George

‘A first class musician of wide experience who is helping orchestras to play wonderfully well.’

Sir Roger Norrington.

Chris has conducted the Royal Northern Sinfonia, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Iceland Symphony Orchestra. He also loves working with the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, Amicus and London City Orchestra and most recently the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

Previously Chris was a violinist - Leader of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, principal player in many orchestras, and happy chamber musician. He spent many years sharing a desk and excellent times with Pauls Ezergailis in the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and is delighted to be involved with Luminosa.

‘Chris is one of the most compelling and irresistible musicians I have ever met. His conducting has urgency and beauty … a real pleasure to play for.’

Matthew Truscott, Leader of Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
